Charitocracy OBX's 13th check to October winner Pea Island Preservation Society for $567

We have good news about October winner Pea Island Preservation Society, right after this quick update...

Platitudes of Gratitude

Heading toward Thanksgiving and the Giving Season, I can't help being cliché and listing some of the things for which I'm grateful:

  • Kids who agree it makes sense to go out for ice cream on the way back from trick-or-treating.
  • Parents who aren't exactly at 100% health, but who are still kicking and showing me how to squeeze the most out of life.
  • Far-flung friends who treat me like family and entice me to travel a lot.
  • A partner who gets me.
  • A squad of generous do-gooders on the Internet who bring me a sense of purpose.

Thank you all! ❤️

October 2021 winner Pea Island Preservation Society

At midnight on Halloween 🎃 we named Charitocracy OBX's 13th monthly winner! Congratulations to Pea Island Preservation Society, nominated by donor boldpath. They preserve the history of The Pea Island Life Saving Station and African American keeper Richard Etheridge. You can find their website here.

Now you have a week to sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to PIPSI. In fact, we already had three generous pot sweeteners come in!

So finally take a minute to watch this 1-minute highlights reel of our grant check presentation to Pea Island Preservation Society. Then feel good about your part in our collective $567+ grant to help with their ongoing work!

  1. Thank you very much for supporting our organization. We very much appreciate this. The support of those who live in and visit the Outer Banks is an important part of our mission to make the incredible story of Keeper Richard Etheridge and the Pea Island Lifesavers known. See the history, learn the history, share the history with others. Visit our web page and Facebook page to learn about the many things we are doing to make this history known.
