We have good news about October winner Pea Island Preservation Society, right after this quick update...
Platitudes of Gratitude
Heading toward Thanksgiving and the Giving Season, I can't help being cliché and listing some of the things for which I'm grateful:
- Kids who agree it makes sense to go out for ice cream on the way back from trick-or-treating.
- Parents who aren't exactly at 100% health, but who are still kicking and showing me how to squeeze the most out of life.
- Far-flung friends who treat me like family and entice me to travel a lot.
- A partner who gets me.
- A squad of generous do-gooders on the Internet who bring me a sense of purpose.
Thank you all! ❤️
October 2021 winner Pea Island Preservation Society
At midnight on Halloween 🎃 we named Charitocracy OBX's 13th monthly winner! Congratulations to Pea Island Preservation Society, nominated by donor boldpath
. They preserve the history of The Pea Island Life Saving Station and African American keeper Richard Etheridge. You can find their website here.
Now you have a week to sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to PIPSI. In fact, we already had three generous pot sweeteners come in!
