Just a quick note of thanks to our board. We had our quarterly meeting last Wednesday, and it was as inspiring as ever. Jessica and I are grateful for the continued dedication of long-time board members David Haas (OBX local!) and Mike Andrews, and this year's new addition, Debbie Chu. (You guys are the best!) Benj the karma farmer?

For the past 3 weeks I've been working the farmers market at Dowdy Park on Thursday mornings. Chris Carroll at Sweater Box Confections graciously invited me to join her high-traffic cookies & pies booth, where she tells customers about the 2% of "Giving Freezer" purchases she donates to local causes through Charitocracy OBX.

I've averaged one new donor from the market each week, which may seem like poor results, but I consider it a win. (Most Thursdays I otherwise get zero!) We stand now at 95 OBX donors! Maybe you can help push us over the 100 donors milestone by inviting that special someone?! Or come by the farmers market and be my shill like Jessica did today. We'll get into a vigorous conversation, and prospective donors will flock to the commotion!

I don't get a chance to hear from my "customers" very often. We're 100% online with all transactions taking place over a web site. There's no real opportunities for face-to-face personal banter, which would be helpful to know what I'm doing right and what I could do better. May 2021 winner Sea Change OBX

Yesterday we named Charitocracy OBX's 8th monthly winner! Congratulations to Sea Change OBX, nominated by donor jennagwaltney. This is their second win! Sea Change dominated the national vote back in February 2020. They work directly with the Outer Banks Latino community to promote education and encourage cross-cultural understanding.
